Scenario D
Scenario D locates the gym/recreation-wellness center north of Cox Stadium, Creative Arts on the softball field site, the nursing/child care/research building on the Tapia Triangle, the museum on south side of Holloway, and the conference center/hotel on 19th Avenue/Buckingham Way. It leaves the Lakeview Center and Corp Yard sites as open space. Following are pluses and minuses.

Gymnasium/Recreation/Wellness Center located along Buckingham Way, on north side of Cox Stadium:

Plus:
  • Relatively close to center of campus, transit and existing athletic facilities

  • Could be part of enhancement /ADA improvements to Cox Stadium and built on several levels into the hillside overlooking the valley

  • Could take advantage of Stonestown’s surplus parking facilities in off-peak occasions
Minus:
  • Removes existing housing that may need to be replaced before construction can occur
