Framework and Land Use Concepts

As illustrated in the accompanying preliminary framework and land use diagrams, major axes and vistas organize and connect the campus from north to south and east to west. These defining lines guide the location of new buildings and major circulation routes and reinforce views across campus to help with orientation and wayfinding. Build-to lines define the limits of new building footprints consistent with these axes, adding clarity to the campus organization. Two north-south routes—including the two proposed pedestrian bridges—cross the valley, and a pedestrian promenade connects from the Quad westward.
