Campus Parking Concept
With the ultimate long-term goal of removing parking from the valley, the master plan identifies future perimeter parking sites
that include a combination of surface lots, parking facilities shared with commercial neighbors, parking structures wrapped
with other building uses, and parking beneath buildings. These parking replacement resources would be staged in a manner
that would eventually allow for phasing out the central garage.
The rationale for this replacement is the long-term vision of the campus, where cars are kept to the perimeter, preserving the
core as a pedestrian- and bicyclist-only environment, and the valley as a recreational and natural feature at the center of campus.
