Option C
Option C locates the gym/recreation-wellness center north of Cox Stadium, Creative Arts on the softball field site, the nursing/child
care/research building on the Lakeview Center site, the museum/academic building on the existing HSS site, and the conference
center/hotel on 19th Avenue/Buckingham Way. Following are pluses and minuses.
Buckingham Way, north of Cox Stadium:
Plus:
- Relatively close to center of campus
- Close to transit, athletic facilities, housing, and hotel/conference center
- Could be part of enhancement /ADA improvements to Cox Stadium and built on several levels into the hillside overlooking the valley
- Could take advantage of Stonestown’s surplus parking facilities on off-peak occasions
Minus:
- Removes existing housing that needs to be replaced before construction can occur
- Sloped site more difficult for construction
- Requires special financing plan
