Vision Statement

We envision...

Strong connections to the surrounding city where...

  • Efficient transit service connects the campus to the city and region.

  • A greenbelt along the valley, with improved pedestrian and new bike paths, firmly links the campus to Lake Merced and Lowell High.

  • SFSU partners with its commercial neighbors to share resources—such as a bookstore and parking—and to provide varied destinations and venues attractive to students—a pub, café, restaurant, and/or jazz club—that are open in the evenings and on weekends.

  • Retail development extends along Buckingham Way, with a strong pedestrian link between the campus and Stonestown.

  • SFSU and neighboring educational institutions partner to share resources and facilities and to explore potential off-campus facilities such as playing fields on public land at Lake Merced.
