Vision Statement

We envision...

Recognition in the city and region where...

  • Iconic elements—architecture, landscape, public art—create a strong and identifiable image for the campus.

  • A signature building on 19th Avenue, near Stonestown/Buckingham Way, and another on Lake Merced Boulevard announce the campus.

  • The SFSU "brand" is visible at all locations, providing a unity of look, particularly between the main campus and Downtown Center.

  • Public art (funded through capital projects) in various forms—sculpture, fountains, murals—serves as a unifying element, celebrating SFSU’s diverse community and giving a unique identity to the campus.

  • Multi-lingual signage expresses SFSU’s international character.

  • Well-attended athletic and performing and fine arts events raise SFSU’s visibility within the city, Bay Area, and beyond.

  • Images of performing ars, sports and their buildings
